The Network of Participation Facilitators of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) held its 10th National Meeting on Participation and Youth in Madrid, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the facilitators group.

On 24, 25 and 26 October 2025, the meeting brought together 50 young Roma from all over Spain who are committed to social participation, inclusion and Roma youth leadership. Throughout the conference, participants shared reflections and proposals for moving towards a more inclusive society, in which the aspirations and needs of young Roma are fully recognised and represented.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sara Giménez, Director General of the FSG, who emphasised: "You are a mirror to look into, a mirror that reflects the work we do at the FSG. Our mission is to be close to our people.’

For her part, Mayte Suárez, Deputy Director of Participation and Talent, emphasised: ’What drives us here is to be able to do more and better for our people, and at the FSG we will continue to promote these much-needed spaces.’

Margarita Guerrero Calderón, Director General of the Spanish Youth Institute (Injuve), also spoke, recalling: ‘There are many stereotypes and prejudices in society. Real transformation is achieved when we move towards real participation in all areas.’

The meeting established itself as a space for dialogue and collective construction, where young people reviewed the progress made over the last 10 years, reflected on civic and community values, and forged alliances with other youth movements.

On this tenth anniversary, the trajectory and evolution of the Network of Facilitators was recognised, which has consolidated a decade of work for participation, equality and opportunities for Roma youth.

In 2026, FSG will continue to promote new initiatives to further strengthen the voice and active participation of young Roma in all social and institutional spaces.

These activities are part of the State Programme for the Promotion of Roma Participation, funded by the State Programmes for Activities of General Interest considered to be of social interest, corresponding to the Secretary of State for Social Rights.
