The FSG among the eight finalists in the sixth edition of Civil Society Prize of the European Economic and Social Committee

The European Economic and Social Committee announced the finalists of the sixth edition to Civil Society Prize given annually. This year, for the first time, was devoted to organizations working for the inclusion of the Roma community.

Out of the eighty-one organizations selected by the EESC to recognize their good work on Roma inclusion, the FSG has the honor of being among the eight finalists, along with entities such as Autonomous Centre, Bulgarian Helsinki Committee, Centre for Sustainable Development in Slovakia or Antiracist European Grassroots Movement, among others.

The aim of the EESC Civil Society Prize, established in 2006, is to reward and encourage the achievements both by organizations and individuals who contribute significantly to the promotion of European identity and integration of its members. Such achievements and initiatives have to be creative and innovative and make a lasting and positive impact.

In previous editions were awarded entities such as: The European Physical Society (EPS), The European Civic Forum, FREE - Associazioni, nomi e numeri contro mafie or The European Association of History Educators (EUROCLIO).

Undoubtedly, this kind of recognitions indicate that we are doing things the right way and give us more strength to continue helping to promote equal conditions for our community.

Our sincere thanks to those entities and individuals who have supported our candidature to this prize.
