The project, led by the European Central University, involves more than 90 NGOs from all member states of the European Union (except Malta) and is coordinated by 4 entities with international experience (ERGO Network, Rome Education Fund, European Roma Rights Center and the Fundación Secretariado Gitano).

The meeting that took place at the headquarters of the Central University of Budapest between September 9 and 11 served to prepare the next follow-up reports of the respective national strategies for the inclusion of the Roma population that will be prepared at the end of 2019 and will be sent to the European Commission to be able to independently monitor compliance with member states of the policies for the social inclusion of gypsies. Unlike in the previous two cycles, in which the themes were established, this time the national coalitions could propose the issues that they thought were important to be addressed. This modification has created an important possibility for civil society to express its opinion on compliance with national policies and the requirements or factors that it believes are not being adequately addressed.

This project has been valued very positively by the European Commission that claims to have used these reports as a reference in its assessments. Other international organizations such as the European Parliament have also rated this project very positively.

The Fundación Secretariado Gitano coordinates the coalition formed by France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Both these reports and those of the other member states can be found on our website:
