With the tablets donated by ProFuturo, school-age children will be able to do their schoolwork remotely, and thus will be able to carry on with their education
The Fundación Secretariado Gitano will make the 300 tablets donated by ProFuturo available to vulnerable Roma families across Spain. ProFuturo is the digital education programme of the Fundación Telefónica and the Fundación la Caixa, and the tablets will help school-age children to carry on learning at home while educational centres are closed.
The initiative supplements the learning support and educational guidance for students and programme continues to operate despite the Covid-19 crisis and the ensuing lockdown. With ProFuturo tablets, 300 Roma children will be able to carry out remotely the schoolwork required of all pupils, and thus continue with their education.
The delivery of these tablets, which took place today at the Fundacion Secretariado Gitano headquarters in Madrid, represents part of a total donation of 10,000 tablets which ProFuturo has distributed over recent weeks to vulnerable families with school-age children, to hospitals and to homes for the elderly through regional governments and other social organisations.
To contribute towards alleviating the impact which the Covid-19 crisis is having on education, ProFuturo has also made its digital educational content available for free to teachers, families and students across the globe, through its campaign #SeeYouInDigital.
