Aims of the meeting:

1/ to name most actual problems in the health care of Roma and its specifics; to name priorities of the working group which will result into national roundtable in June 2006,

2/ mapping of existing projects/ programs focused on health care and health issues of Roma minority in Slovakia; the agreement on joint cooperation and linking this project with existing ones; information and experience exchange in this topic. 

The main role of the working group is to elaborate a material focused on identifying of health care standards and inequalities in health care of Roma minority; to learn about the obstructions in the health care access; to evaluate best practices.

Program of the 1st meeting:

Introduction, presentation of the main aims of the meeting, presentation of the program “Reduction of Health Inequalities in Roma Communities”.

11:20

Information of the state institution’s and NGO’s representatives on present state in the area of health and access of Roma to health care services and about the most pressing problems and needs in this area.

12:00

Brief information on individual programs realized by attending institutions and organizations.

12:30

Discussion on priorities of the working group which will result into national roundtable in June 2006.

13:00

13:30

Discussion on existing programs in the area of health care services and health education and prevention in Roma communities. Possibility to present materials on this topic.
